“Sup,” she said, flashing her opponent a wave, before sticking both hands in her pockets. “I guess… let’s fucking go?”

She releases her Klinklang and Lucario, sending them into the fray. Windcharger attacks with zap cannon and Twilight uses meteor mash.

klinklang uses zap cannon (power 120)
lucario uses meteor mash (power 90)

electric terrain gives + 50 bp to zap cannon and meteor shower gives + 75 to both for a total of 245 and 165
meteor shower = -100 hp to both pokemon

This was some arena, huh? It almost reminds him of the gym back in Rustboro with its weather accommodations. Maybe the tech is similar?[break][break]

“Yooo,” he shoots her a salute back , flashing a crooked grin as he shrugs. “Hell yeah, no time like the present.”[break][break]

His own pokeballs crack open in a flash, an altaria taking to the skies and nimbly skirting around falling meteors as his shinx darts through the electric terrain on the ground, soaking up energy.[break]

A meteor mash from the opposing lucario slows his roll, but the shinx pushes through—retaliating with a crackling thunder.[break][break]

Meanwhile, his altaria weathers the zap cannon, static clinging to her feathers before sending down a shimmering moonblast.

[attr="class","thadmain"]If she was going to have a chance at winning this she was going to have to really play into the electric terrain advantage. Which she couldn’t really do with Twi because he didn’t know any electric-type moves. And Windcharger only knew the one.

Oh, well.

Twilight threw his arms out and fired a dragon pulse and Windcharger fired off another zap cannon.

klinklang uses zap cannon (power 120)
lucario uses dragon pulse (power 85) + 75 = 160

electric terrain gives + 50 bp to zap cannon for a total of 170 + 75 (meteors) = 245
lucario is hit by thunder and klinklang is hit by moonblast
meteor shower = -100 hp to both pokemon

Klinklang: 630/1000 HP
Lucario: 565/1000 HP

Repetition seems to be in the cards for Lam too. At least as far as his shinx is concerned for the time being. "Again!" he calls as the little feline barrel rolls from the impact of the dragon pulse before flipping back up on all fours to summon another round of thunder down on the lucario.[break][break]

mallow, meanwhile, doesn't appreciate having her feathers singed by the repeated zap cannon and seeks to bring down comets of her own crashing down in a furious draco meteor alongside what is already cratering into the earth around them from the arena.

“Time to shake it up!”

Twilight at least managed to get some distance and hurl off an aura sphere while Windcharger geared up for a hyper beam

klinklang uses hyper beam (BP 150 + 75 (meteors) = 225)
lucario uses aura sphere (BP 80 + 75 (meteors) = 155)

lucario is hit by thunder and klinklang is hit by draco meteor
meteor shower = -100 hp to both pokemon

He would’ve liked to play with a little more variety in his team’s movepool, but the meteors falling around them made it a bit difficult.
Time is suddenly far more of the essence than it normally might be in a match battle.[break][break]

Lam looks across the space, shrugging at his opponent with an equally muted laugh. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?”[break][break]

His shinx pulls down another flurry of charged up thunder—thrown back by her lucario’s aura sphere, but not dissuaded. Charging at the canine as soon as he regains his footing.[break][break]

The altaria in the air is not quite so fortunate. The hyper beam leaves her hanging on by a thread. She collects just enough energy to fire off one more MOONBLAST at the klinklang as she spirals downward. Before another stray meteor clips her and sends her crashing down for good before Lam recalls her with a sigh. “Them’s the breaks.”

Windcharger was mostly unaffected, being made of metal, but Twilight was forced to expend valuable energy dodging. A trickle of blood rolled down between his ears where a stray stone had struck the apex of his canid head.

Cyg punches a fist into the air as the Altaria’s cottony body deflates and goes down in a bright beam of light.

But her victory was short lived when she realized Twilight was on his last legs and Windcharger needed a turn to recharge.

Might have blown our load a little bit early there…

Noodle is sturdier than Lam initially gave him credit for—outlasting Mallow by a decent stretch, he’s quick to shift gears toward the recharging klinklang when his opponent’s lucario goes down next.[break][break]

Lam doesn’t count it an upper hand just, yet—unsure of how the tables might shift. With a terrain like this, he’s not about to trust any certainty.[break][break]

Picking up speed as he goes, the shinx launches himself in a full on WILD CHARGE, electricity crackling around his small, fuzzy body.[break][break]

More plummeting meteors threaten to drag him down as he dashes to collide with the other Pokémon’s gears in a burst of brightly lit impact.

Windcharger falls to the ground, gears falling out of concentricism, clanging loudly as the lingering electricity dances over them.

“Oh, whale,” she says, shrugging, “well fought, little kitty.” She grins at the Shinx before collecting her fallen comrades and leaving the field.
